Episode 7: The Move Your Body Video
At this stage of life, aren't we all craving a certain feeling or emotional state? Dr. Lynne describes it as feeling empowered and in a state of expansion and abundance. Basically, we all want to feel strong in our own bodies....
In our latest episode of Life after Kids with Drs. Brooke and Lynne, we're talking about exercise and how it relates to emotional health and well-being. Honestly, can we just take "how we look physically" out of the conversation already?! Let's just talk about exercise and how it makes us FEEL! Isn't that the most important thing after all?
Truly, there's no better way to FEEL strong and comfortable in your body than to MOVE IT OFTEN! If you want to become the best version of yourself, and daily feel like you can take on the world, then moving your body is the perfect place to start. And, when you exercise regularly you'll improve your emotional health too.
Remember (we're starting to sound like a broken record here) to let go of what you think exercise needs to look like and don't compare your movement or work out to anybody else's. If you really want to play the "compare game" then compare yourself to who you were and what you did yesterday. Here're a few tips to help you along the way.
Determine what YOU like. If you enjoy it, you'll be more likely to do it regularly. Some examples: swim, dance, tennis, weight lift, walk your dog, mat workouts, hike, bike ride
Consistency is key. If you're just getting started, commit to moving your body 10-20 minutes, 4 days a week for 30 days. It takes 30 days to make something a habit. Once you've developed the habit of exercise you can start to increase frequency, duration, and intensity
Push yourself out of your comfort zone. If you're already exercising regularly, we encourage you to push yourself to the next level. There isn't much that makes you feel stronger as a woman than when you've completed a difficult movement or activity you weren't sure you were capable of doing.
Now, get up off that couch, get your yoga pants on and get yourself moving! BUT BEFORE YOU GO, learn more about our favorite ways to exercise by Clicking the picture above to watch Episode 7: The Move Your Body Video
